New Year…New Goals…New 30 Day Smoothie Challenge!

Join me for a NEW 30 Day Smoothie Challenge that kicks off January 15th!

In just a few short days 2016 comes to a close and we will find ourselves kicking off 2017. Whether you are a ‘New Year’s Resolution’ junkie or not (personally, I am not) many of us find ourselves at least reflecting on some changes we would like to make in the upcoming days. It’s only natural to want to improve upon what we have done and aim for our next ambition and dream. While I personally don’t set resolutions this time of year, I do always take a some time to set some goals that I would like to achieve. I am a firm believer in the power of writing goals down. The odds of them being met are exponentially higher when they are written and put in a place where I can look at them every day – so for me, they are right by my desk.

One of my yearly goals is always to continue focusing on my health and overall wellness. (Hence why I am sharing this challenge with you!) I find that what that means evolves from year to year. As a busy working momma of a two year old, one of my goals this year is to maintain regular workouts that INCLUDE my son, as well as continue to expose him to healthy eating and an active lifestyle. You know I like to preach encourage starting our littles ones on healthy habits early. As I am sure many of you can relate to, it’s a constant juggle between work and play, so if I can incorporate some of my workouts with my little guy that means I am not missing out on time with him, nor am I missing out on being active. Does it mean my style of workouts might change? Absolutely, but it’s just the season of life I/we are in right now. (Fortunately for us Santa and our family supports our active lifestyle and we have a ‘new to us’ Bounce House and trampoline to keep us moving during the cold winters here in MN. If you know me, you know that I have already started dreaming up some ‘workouts’ to incorporate those things while William plays!)

So with that said, healthy eating, including trying new flavors (still working on building up my love/tastebuds for beets), is on the goal list amongst other things. I like to make SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic and Time-Based), so I am kicking off the New Year with a 30 Day Smoothie Challenge. William and I have a smoothie at least 6 out of 7 mornings of the week, so I use the challenge to force me to give different smoothie recipes a try. It’s a great way to introduce new flavors, new fruits and veggies, new superfoods, and break our regular chocolate banana smoothie rut that we find ourselves falling back on. (Although I can’t say that rut is a bad thing…) Many of you have joined me for some Smoothie Challenges in 2016 and loved the variety, so I am inviting you to join me again!  You know I aim to please, so per requests there is another optional workout book, along with a quick and easy health assessment that I can’t wait to share with you!

In this workshop we’ll be walking you through how to make clean and healthy energy balls, along with tips for choosing super foods that help fuel your body and taste good.

There will also be a focus on selecting a clean, good quality protein, and why protein is a critical component to our diet.

School is starting in a few short weeks, and I am sitting here wondering where summer has gone! While I love the warmer summer days, lazy pontoon rides, extra time at the lake, bonfires, smores, and all the fun that summer brings, I am looking forward to getting back into more of a routine.  One that includes resetting my eating habits and finds me exercising more consistently.
