Runners at The CORE

Fit to the CORE offers a variety of running programs designed to meet your running goals whether you are a novice, or seasoned veteran. In order to provide you with individualized attention and training, we cap the maximum amount of participants for each program.  Participation is on a first come, first serve basis, so we encourage you to register early.

Parts of these training programs are held outside, so please dress accordingly.

Current Running Programs
11 Week ‘Run & Tone’ Class

Description: Stay active with our 11 week ‘Run and Tone’ class.  The main goal of this class is to get you moving, and help strengthen and condition your core. A portion of class will include a focus on walking/running..  The remaining portion of class will include a variety of strength building exercises using body weight, resistance bands, and medicine balls. The class is geared for a variety of fitness levels from power walkers to avid runners. These weekly coaching sessions will last approximately 1 hour, and will occasionally be accompanied by written handouts with tips, ideas, and workouts.  
Please note registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable to other Fit to the CORE membership options.

Time: 5:45 – 6:45 PM
Dates: July 10 – September 18 (no class on Labor Day, Monday, Sept 5 and instead will meet Wednesday that week)

11 Week Runner to the CORE Conditioning Program

Description: You run, but you want to increase your endurance, your speed, and your dedication to running – then this is the class for you.  Our Runner to the CORE Conditioning program will focus on drills that help assist with speed, endurance, and agility. We tend to average between 3-6 miles of running during our hour long session.  The group is always working in one spot, so everyone can go at their own pace, and no one is left behind.  In addition to our main focus on running, there will also be a heightened importance on building core strength, and the importance of stretching for an improved running experience. These weekly coaching sessions will last approximately 1 hour, and will occasionally be accompanied by written handouts with tips, ideas, workouts, etc for you to follow in between sessions. Prior running experience is recommended for this class – you should be able to comfortably run 3+ miles (at whatever your preferred pace) at the beginning of class.

(Sign up for both Monday and Wednesday night sessions receive a $45.00 discount on your total registration fee.)
Where: Meeting locations will be at the studio each week unless notified ahead of time.

Beginner’s Train for A 5K Program

Next Session: This class is not currently in session, but our Run & Tone would be a great substitute!  Stay tuned for future dates.

Description:  This program is geared for true beginners who never run, or those that may have dabbled a bit and are looking to add consistency to their running.  Our Beginner’s Program is are a fun way to get started or keep up with your running, lose weight, feel great, and improve your overall heath!  We will meet weekly for approximately an hour. These weekly coaching sessions will be accompanied by a written training plan for you to follow in between sessions, and include options for each track/program goal.

Beginner’s Plus Programs

Description: This program is geared for those that have finished the Train for a 5K program and aren’t quite ready to bump up to the advanced program. or who are novice runners.  We will meet weekly for approximately an hour. These weekly coaching sessions will be accompanied by a written training plan for you to follow in between sessions.
