Spring Running Program Kicks Off April 4th!

Two separate programs, both designed to meet your running goals whether you are a novice, or seasoned veteran.  In order to  provide you with individualized attention and training, we cap each of the programs at 15 participants each. Participation is on a first come, first serve basis, so we encourage you to register early. (This is a very popular training program and fills quickly.)

These training programs will be held outside, so please dress accordingly. In case of inclement weather, the outdoor training programs may be re-scheduled, though we try to avoid this as much as possible. (Be prepared to run in wind, chilly temps, hot temps, drizzle…we are tough Minnesotans after all, and you can never control race day weather!)

Train For A 5K – Beginners Program

Description: Looking to run your fist 5K/8K or get in shape for your next one? If so, this class is for you! Our 5K/8K Training Program is a fun way to start running, lose weight, feel great, and improve your overall heath! We will meet weekly for approximately an hour. These weekly coaching sessions will be accompanied by a written training plan for you to follow in between sessions. This 11 week course will help prepare you just in time for the Hutchinson Water Carnival 5K/8K that will be held on Saturday, June 16.

No prior running experience is needed – this class is geared towards beginners – but a strong desire and commitment to run is!

Running Conditioning Program  – (Class is Now Full)

Description: You run occasionally, or even regularly, but you want to increase your endurance, your speed, and your dedication to running – this is the class for you.

Our running conditioning program will primarily focus on drills that help increase speed, endurance, and agility. There will also be some group runs, during which we will average a distance of around 3 – 5 miles. A new addition to this program, will be a heightened importance on building core strength, and the importance of stretching for an improved running experience.

These weekly coaching sessions will last approximately 1 hour, and will be accompanied by a written training plan for you to follow in between sessions.

At the end of this 11 week session, there will be an option to run the Hutchinson Water Carnival Run, June 16 as a group.

Prior running experience is recommended, you should be able to comfortably run 1 – 2 miles at the beginning of this class.

* Note: A member is someone who has an unlimited or punch card membership, and maintains that through the program. A non-member is someone that does not want to take any other classes at CORE, and only wants to participate in the running program. Registrations for the running program are non-refundable and non-transferable to other CORE membership options.
